A friend sent me a post containing numerous AI-slop "food" photos, and I had to ask them not to send any more. They're creepy and horrifying.

It's so bad and I just don't understand how *places that serve food* look at it and go "yeah that's good actually"

Also? When a restaurant is too lazy to put actual effort into their advertising/promotions, where else are they cutting corners? Ingredients? Food safety regulations? Cleaning?

My god, these slop-food images I keep seeing really trigger my vomit reflex. Just what you want in a food advertisement, right? Yum!

They are so unrepentant, too! One of our local favorites for 30 some years started putting fake photos up on their menu and one of them included fries. When I didn't get fries with it they were like, 'oh oops! too bad!' The abdication of responsibility with AI, large and small, is CHILLING.

YES it boggles my mind! Every business now is just like "oh yeah you just can't trust us now. Yeah the bot is just wrong sometimes, good luck, teehee" In what world does it make any business sense to just randomly lie to your customers and act like that's fine lol
