Just remembered that PSN is still unavailable in over 100 countries, yet I bet gamers there still bought Playstations and physical games. Hell, even if your job requires you being stationed in one of the countries for whatever reason, PlayStation is no longer an option in any way.

PSN is available in those countries, they can select another countrie in the account creation page. It's in the TOS.

@playstation.com is really stupid if they think they can ignore the 20% or whatever number that buys physical games. 20% is still a lot of money on the table. Gamers are not going to accept this option going away. Especially not with so weak consumer protection and ownership rights.

Completely agree with you besides that 20% of buyers ≠ 20% of profit. Though physical sales take up a decent chunk of players, physical discs cost upwards of 50% off so that 20% buyers is effectively 10% profit to them
