WITNESS REPORT: @tansy.bsky.social went to GSFTW expecting a safe space, not to be approached by Fox News with "sexually and politically charged questions". GSFTW failed to protect attendees from hostile media without press passes. GSFTW's head of PR wasn't told, reported being lied to by board.

This isn't the only witness about being mistreated by Fox News at GSFTW. Other reports have come forward about Fox News filming suiters with heads off, and featuring their furry con stage show front and center on national TV without consent or knowledge.

Wanna see some ripe corruption? When Fox News went to GSFTW and made attendees feel violated... (with suspicious board awareness but PR dept kept in the dark)... They featured Peter/Flynn/Arcticwindsphoto praising Trump. He went on Kiwifarms to brag about it. Today, he wants to be GSFTW staff.

Now Kiwifarms has direct posting by a GSFTW media volunteer, who helped Fox News make GSFTW attendees feel invaded and targeted. He did volunteer media work at last con, wants to be AV staff now, and is welcome by GSFTW admins in their chat.

Really makes ya wonder, who invited Fox News in the first place to a small, regional, first-year furry con, and got the board to look the other way while the PR dept was in the dark.

GSFTW welcomes this Kiwifarms-posting, Fox News MAGA politics pusher, because their staff and board is already infested and can not be reformed.

Dashing Fox, the Furry Raiders podcast guest who "stepped down" then became owner of GSFTW, also owns their official chat group. Here's Dashing enforcing "no politics", with ass kissing from Furry Raiders and the Kiwifarms-Fox News-MAGA troll.

On Xitter, I got reminded about the Furry Raider whose ban from GSFTW was lifted recently, Chris "Astral" Curtis, who chimed in to kiss ass to Dashing in the above screen. Astral trolled Anthrocon with hate symbols in their fursuit parade that forced AC to make new policy to prevent recurrence.

2 days ago as this story was starting to smoulder, the official announcements channel for GSFTW posted disgust about mismanagement. The channel was then deleted, removing records of past statements they didn't live up to, and the con owners announced "this is are(sic) new channel".

The GSFTW official chat has been spinning out of control, with censorship by pausing posting ability and removing posts about con mismanagement. But Kiwifarms-using MAGA members are shielded, and protests are labeled "politics."

Despite censoring protests, the GSFTW admins play helpless about not seeing proof of CoC violations when it involves those being protested, and defend their politics as "opinion". They deny knowing what Kiwifarms is while the KF troll arrogantly declares "I'll post where I please".

While the admins are censoring their out of control chat, meanwhile behind the scenes they are scrambling to do damage control and accuse critics.

Last night, my reporting was accused by an anon account of "no integrity" for "shooting off" without getting the side of GSFTW - after they stonewalled heavy effort to get statements from the Chair who refused to answer, and made statements they didn't live up to.

That accusation turned out to come from someone on or close to GSFTW board, who grudgingly took my challenge to tell the "real story" -- and delivered weak, spin-filled excuses that point fingers at departed staff for mismanagement by the board and Chair they stood by. None of it surprised me.

They simply refuse to stop standing by their broken leadership, and will not take accountability. Recriminations at departed staff don't absolve them of chronic mismanagement.

I could post their excuses, because funny enough they declared it "off record" with negotiating an agreement of such. They really don't know what they're doing, and have no competence while accusing reporters of no integrity. I replied this way (sick of obstructionist, do-nothing mendacity...)

I could go through this point by point, but god... Really? They tenaciously cling to their liability of a Chair who put them in a pickle, and other bad actors. They don't want to do better. Simple as. (For reference again)- dogpatch.press/2024/10/21/g...

This one's funny. No defense about their chat group member and Fox News speaker being a Kiwifarms poster who has been quite active with doxing another local furry - and he himself contradicts their claim that he wasn't a volunteer.

Claims about being helpless to ban problem people are belied by vocal "no pawlitics" defenses by Dashing and Shy Matsi, against fellow organizers calling out the dishonesty of redefining hate as politics. They aren't helpless, they actively harbor problem people. GSFTW is silent on this.
