Incredible things coming out in GSFTW chat. "Here’s Shy Matsi’s fellow admin of FurriesXtreme stating that multiple people have asked him to remove Growly and he still hasn’t." - Shy's fellow admin: "People are leaving the group because of it."

GSFTW chat: "These are the types of people you allow in the fandom, with your spineless weak “can’t we all just get along” rhetoric." The results of high octane Geek Social Fallacy from incompetent management.

On Xitter, W0nder is still going about his recent re-ban, crying discrimination because places won't let him discriminate against trans people. (Telling us what "Republican" really means, ya think?) Revealed - the unspoken reason his friends in GSFTW management let him back in: they think the same.

There's a big topic around this type of mismanagement. It's the "nobody's job" problem. Internet platforms allow chaos where nobody curates. Part of the solution would be striving to draw lines in IRL space - not settling for weakness there too. dogpatch.press/2024/10/21/g...

On Xitter, Drayne's criticism of GSFTW is a target of attempted suppression. An argumentative community note was proposed that cites GSFTW's own ass-covering PR that landed with a flop. The note has not been approved.

Previous reporting mentioned that at the first GSFTW in May, panels hosted hostile/competitive language towards the other nearby convention. Now I'm getting tips that staff of Furrydelphia are being banned from GSFTW chat. The Philadelphia con staffs New Jersey furs sharing the same community.

I'm reporting this after having made effort in first reporting to reach out to GSFTW and get their statements about problems inside. Those statements weren't honored. Consider the source of the conflict.

Massive protest in GSFTW chat has persisted through mods censoring it, closing chat and reopening with futile hope to control it. Mods are being scrutinized as problem people themselves, with no competence to fix broken management.

"Answer for your crimes" "Step down" "Mods legit have no fucking control anymore" Today protest posting reached such velocity that chat was closed again, with mods saying the entire chat is due to be deleted. Members say "there should not be a con" unless the entire board and staff are replaced.

The final post in GSFTW chat. Is this an epitaph for management who were too chicken to care for their community?

GSFTW management must be pouring sweat over what they let happen to their chat. It's closed, but check out the reacts on their new announcement channel. "We are looking into multiple situations" -- little late to put the cows back in the barn after lying about action almost a year ago, isn't it?

The dilemma the con faces concerns what contract terms they may have to honor, and how to get people to come back to a con saddled with a self-inflicted reputation as Free Fur All 2.0. Deleting a 500 member chat, purging vocal members, or keeping them to preserve numbers - no good options. Fold con?

This is what I was getting at in mentioning the "nobody's job" problem earlier in thread. It crops up throughout fandom spaces where the Geek Social Fallacies rule. t.me/communityorganizing GSFTW has made itself representative of that problem. It's not that hard to solve, it just requires caring.
