2018, before ICE had killed anyone in our district's memory, Adam Smith said he wanted to see the agency go away. 2026, after ICE shot two people in a week, he wants it "restructured with guardrails."

Last week, two individuals were fatally shot by ICE. ICE must be restructured with clear guardrails and real accountability to keep our communities safe. The current approach to immigration enforcement is only sowing fear, violence, and chaos.

The facts got worse. The language got softer. In between, a socialist filed against him and the primary went top-two, which means his November math now runs through voters who like the word "restructured." I'll take the votes. I'm not buying the vocabulary.
