In general: Do you want to make a difference in an election? The best way to do that is not on bluesky or really the internet at all. The best way is *something in the physical world*. Find a local campaign. Find a party office who will send you to a local campaign one district over. Knock on doors.

For Maine voters who are worried that Collins might still eek out a win, instead of lamenting, there's plenty of GOTV work for Maine voters. Here's a list of actions Maine voters can get involved in. shaystewartbouley.substack.com/p/gotv-maine...

"I have physical limitations and can't go around knocking on doors" Try to find the campaign office anyway? They will have office volunteer work like typing up canvass lists. "Oh cool, I found a phonebanking opportunity—" No, don't bother IMO. IME they'll just have you asking for money. 0 benefit.

I disagree on this one? At least in these last couple weeks before election day, a fair bit of phone banking (in my personal experience) is calling "people who had at some point in the past been a registered democrat", having a brief conversation with them, and encouraging them to vote this year.

Texting can be fun if they have the right kind, too. We had voter outreach texting where the volunteers handed substantive conversations off to the candidate themselves. Candidates *loved* it because they get to have a bunch of great convos and don’t even see the mean responses.

That's interesting! I block every political text I get because my phone is swamped with spam from "Mothership"
