Why did social security work? Everyone pays in, everyone gets something out. Means testing means losing the support of the wealthy for these programs. Lift the income cap on social security contributions.

The "rightists" cheer this on unless they think they didn't immiserate enough people. They HATE, HATE, HATE prosperity for anyone besides their idols. They'd rather see "blue hair and pronouns gets owned" than millions more people taking it easy. They can't respect anything else any more.

Exactly. Rather than fight over pieces of a plant, water the plant and let it grow so there's more for everyone.
