Colleagues at the @vogelwarte.bsky.social show that traditional owl monitoring may underestimate Long-eared Owl populations. Using a combination of short playback calls and occupancy modelling, they found increased detection rates and higher abundances. More: www.ebcc.info/wp-content/u...
