my server that runs a lot of my atproto projects (bskycharts, recordcollector, feeds, probably more I'm forgetting) is down right now with a bad disk doing what I can but it may be awhile before everything is back up

Is it coming back?… Did you have backups? 🥺

yeah I was able to rescue everything, I think the main activity charts have been back up since the weekend but that's it so far bskycharts.edavis.dev/edavis.dev/b... still need to work on getting everything else back up, just haven't had the time yet!

Great! the DAU/MAU one is the one I was most concerned about

yeah it'll all be there minus these 8-9 days though to be honest I always felt it thrashed the disk a bit too much... I was debating not bringing that one back (It didn't kill the disk or anything, the disk was just old) I'll see if I can tune it a bit, I'm probably just being overcautious

It's the best chart!

I'd like to make it more efficient before bringing it back but am finding it hard to motivate myself to work on it

What's inefficient about it btw?

I have a hunch it's heavier on disk IO than it needs to be but haven't proven or disproven that out so I'm stalled until that work happens I'm limited on bandwidth these days so it never jumps up the priority list for me

Heh, I've got plenty of things I'm managing already tbh… 😅 I can motivate you by shouting at you from time to time until you get it back 😛
