AI generates code that looks correct, sounds confident, and is sometimes subtly wrong. I wrote up the three-layer review process I use to catch the things AI consistently misses. Plus the tools that help: Laravel Boost and Ponytail. jamesking.dev/blog/review...

jamesking.devHow to Review AI-Generated Code Before It Hits Production | BlogAI generates code fast. That means more surface area to review, not less. Here's the review process I've settled on after months of daily use.

the layer most people skip: diffing against what you actually asked for, not just what the tests happen to cover. agents love padding files nobody asked them to touch.

Good to know, never used it. Does it stop the padding before it happens or just flag it after the diff already landed?

Prevention over detection is the harder problem to solve but way more useful. Most tools in this space still just flag it after the fact and call that review.
