I’ve tried to use AI for drafting simple content (no chance I will use it for my meaningful writing) and it has never added value…in fact it usually wastes my time as I have to rewrite most of the text. But then, I can discern crap from good writing… www.nytimes.com/2026/08/04/o...

But Stephens really resonates here (God help me) because I use writing to figure out what I think. I have never outlined a single published work (I have more than 100 out there). They all had starting points and the emergence of argument and structure occurred as I wrote. AI ruins that.
