At least 5 times everyday it surprises me that "just copy the implementation and tweak it for your user case" is a feature of jetpack compose and not a bug 😔

If you want to use either depending on if you're folded or not, maybe you can use a lookaheadscope and animateBounds to toggle between either?

Yes this makes sense. I was only decrying how locked down the "foundational" APIs feel, requiring copying or hacks to implement (what I believe are) simple enough use cases.

oooh yea valid. IIRC the reason is you should be able to "Compose" foundation APIs to get to your use case, and if foundation isn't foundation enough for your use case, then by all means copy
