“Were the games like that?” This is a LOADED question but I basically went with the answer of “it’s a long series that went a lot of different ways, so… parts?” Although the movie takes place in Racoon City, it feels the closest to RE7… maybe also RE2.

I think that’s what I like about the movie - it’s like 2/7 (maybe 8) insofar as you’re not STARS or Super Agent Leon Kennedy and as much as I like those, I really do enjoy “Regular Person fights off Umbrella Inc’s messed up projects” too

Yeah, it maintains the feeling of playing a game but I really enjoyed that as the film goes on it feels like "our hapless protagonist" transitions more and more into "we are seeing in real time the events that a player character will later stumble into", bloody lab and voice recordings

The ending's a downer but also it's like the movie is saying Bryan caused his problems by being afraid to reach out to another person, and then the ending goes to shit because a series of people are afraid to reach out to another person. I love when horror just says what the deal is.
