On this day in 2011, Georgia executed Troy Davis despite new evidence of his innocence. The evidence was so compelling that three of his jurors urged the government to stop the execution.

Civilized countries do not have death panalty. "Revenge driven" countries will make fatal errors and in the end they are not better than criminals. Fun fact: the criminal rate in the US is top notch. So: does it work? Nope. Not at all!
