That's a good question. Most of the predicted Lib Dem seat losses are by much less than the predicted Lab/Green vote. LD campaign literature might mention that occasionally....

I don't see how more Labour is anything to celebrate. More persecuting unfavourable minorities. More proscribing harmless protest groups. More pandering to the rich at the expense of the poor. Yay!

PR can be just as problematic. In Spain for example, the right wing PP will probably be in coalition with the extreme ring wing Vox party meaning a shift to the hard right on many policies.

Except it's not. PP has the lion share of the right wing vote but will probably not be able form a government without the help of Vox in the general election on 29th November.

on these sort of numbers going to need some sort of 'partner' formally coalition highly unlikely however not a problem however Andy seems to agree with so much of the Lib Dem stuff anyway electoral reform HoL reform...

There is a lot of overlap between the two parties and they could do each other good, with Labour pulling the Libs a bit fiscally left (without Libs taking heat from that as junior partners) and the Libs nudging Labour to be more liberal (without Labour taking heat for that either).

It could go either way, but a narrow majority like that *should* be good for internal party discipline.....

A majority is a majority - they'd be expected to at least try. Also expect there'd be some cooling on electoral reform, already talk of preferred alternative being supplementary vote (Temu AV) rather than anything proportional.

I still can’t see Reform getting more than 40 seats… and I do believe the LibDems will have a similar number to 2024, between 70/80… but a definite yes to a small Labour majority…

Must be the first one to show a majority in ages! Not convinced about some of the Lab holds (NW Leics., Pendle, Poole, St Austell) though nor Greens winning Huddersfield (would imagine if there's a Yorkshire breakthrough it'll be Sheffield Central). But then what do I know?
