I love Maus. It’s brilliant. But I have always disliked Spiegelman’s utterly pretentious view towards comics. He’s part of the reason I abhor people calling them “comix”. This AI-friendly heel turn isn’t all that surprising, but I feel finally justified in my dislike.

Maus is ineffably good, which makes it all the more strange that everything else he's made is total garbage. No one has a 2nd favorite Art Spiegelman comic.
