i can't imagine any company more committed to that than Apple, certainly not Samsung or Motorola. maybe we'll see what the Pixel Folds look like in six months, but i'm not holding my breath.

It may be true in a technical sense, but I think Apple used to be more committed to that than they are now. I definitely don't think anyone in the industry right now is more committed to actual problem-solving than they are to profit.

That was true when they still had Steve telling them to keep working on it until it really works. It's a very hard problem but it clearly hasn't been treated as such at Apple. They don't seem to have improved on Samsung's unfortunate hinges.
