hey i promise i'm not trying to be rude here, but would you consider either using alt text for image descriptions or not at all? it's meant to be an accessibility feature, and since it's optional it feels kinda silly to misuse it for regular captions..

oh i'm sorry, i'm not aware of how it works exactly. does it show up differently for people pending an option you turn on? i just assumed everyone sees the same posts on bsky and if there's alt text it's extra context for you to read if you want

it's mostly for the visually impaired of any kind, especially those that use screen readers! but it can also just be used for adding additional context to pieces that might not be obvious to everyone. generally it's just a tool for making the site more accessible to more people
