Courage in communication is the one I see missing most in retail rollouts: teams soften bad news until it arrives too late. How do you practice it in a PM review?

I once did a review with senior leaders and C-Suite types. During the two hour block they wouldn’t stop bickering about things that didn’t matter to the project that was now complete. I stopped the conversation, and shared with them a slightly sped up recording of them-

It sounded like a bunch of little kids fighting. They all chuckled a bit, and apologized (I learned that from a mentor and it was the first time I’d used it). It’s hard for me to lean on that as courage, because I did it out of anger/frustration. Nonetheless, it worked.
