Just got a cold call from a recruiter. Great, I just announced that I was looking for a job! He wanted to discuss candidates he had for me to hire at my previous company. 🤦‍♂️

Before taking the call, ask what record identifies you as a hiring contact at your previous company—and when it was last updated. That’s a practical data-quality check before sharing anything.
