There are some people who claim "oh, Dems in blue states will never shift towards enacting anti-trans policy" Meanwhile Colorado is literally enacting a medical detransition protocol for trans youth on medicaid.

Rather than cover the cost of gender affirming care for trans youth under medicaid, Colorado is voluntarily enacting the republican "taper and detransition" policy for youth on medicaid and dropping coverage. WTF.

The reason to make anti-trans policies and politics unpopular for Democrats national is so that it's also toxic for Democrats at the state and local level. Its wild that people need to be reminded of this when we pressure high profile dems

You're just lying. "Colorado's attorney general on Wednesday sued the Trump administration over health care for transgender youth. The state joins a coalition of 20 Democrat-led states, and Washington, D.C., in challenging an administration decision"

Many blue states sued AND are maintaining coverage. Colorado is one of just a tiny few who are not. And forcing people through detransition.

We have to make them. Regardless of which party wins, this fight continues. I work like hell for Democrats and I protest them too. Trust noone and remember when you don't choose your government, one will be appointed to you.

The legacy of Grover Norquist is enshrined in the state constitution. Gov Polis has been the leading defender of TABOR, ensuring that legislative action and often ballot measures are needed constantly. It ensures specific harms, even against the will of a trifecta when the amount of money is small.

When people come with questions about these topics, they generally reach out to their state reps/senators. But the Polis administration didn't think it was prudent to give us a heads up on this change. If the people of Colorado want to ensure we can cover the costs, vote YES on 87 & NN and NO on 136

TBH he's the problem. Polis is term limited, so he's not up for election again, and he's stopped pretending to support Democrat policies. He already got censured by the Colorado Democratic Party for pardoning Tina Peters. Last year (2025) he announced a series of Colorado NFTs.

Rumor is he's in Peter Thiel's group chats. Jared Polis was my congressman before he was my governor, and I voted for him several times, and I feel utterly betrayed by his actions in the past couple years.

I’ve heard that Colorado plans to restore Medicaid access when the legislature returns in January. Since apparently that needs legislative approval. So hopefully Medicaid access will be restored in CO in a few months. It is terrible that some people will have to go without access until then tho…

It seems that the bigotry underpinning those in power is revealing itself as such, notwithstanding the label of "democrat" and "republican". In the same week AOC defends while Turek offends, both from the same party. We can't abide Tureks.

As a trans adult in Colorado, I still feel quite safe here, but I do feel extremely betrayed by Governor Polis. In the past couple years he's started to turn his back on everything he used to appear to stand for, and I blame him for the state abandoning trans kids. But he'll be gone soon.

As far as the anti-trans ballot measures go, it's very easy to get amendments to the state constitution on the ballot here, and this year conservatives have flooded the ballot with a broad variety of bad stuff. I haven't seen polling, but Colorado remains very blue, so I'm hopeful none will pass.

People need to realize we can’t accept our two system capitalism any longer. I am at a point where we either fight for democracy via revolution or we have Dems that don’t wanna become a fascist, capitalist party. And the establishment dems chose their side

I’m an entitled cis white guy. This pisses me off to no fucking end. Could y’all dems please take out the electoral college *before* exposing your asshole to the country?!

I'm curious if you intentionally left off that Colorado sued the Trump admin over the changes that prompted this, that the legislature has been out of session since before the federal changes happened and that a legislative fix is required?

12 blue states, many of which are out of session, have covered it using emergency funds. I have spoken to Colorado legislators. There are levers that can be pulled and in the worst case, emergency measures that can be taken. This is not necessary to do.

All three of the Millionaire driven initiatives are bad for this state. Someone told me that I638 and I-001 were being used as a whip to get I645 across the finish line and it kind of makes since.
