I think win or lose the lesson from tonight’s nyc mayoral race is that the Democratic establishment are openly contemptuous of anyone that actually believes a better world is possible, will fight tooth and nail to stop anyone who does, and must be ousted before we can even hope to fight back.

Like do you really want to be doing this shit in the primary season for 2028? Where they roll out the Clintons or other long-past-their-prime statesmen to advocate for Newsom (or some equivalent) in order to bus some young person with ever so modestly progressive ideas?

I think what we'll see is them trying to drag out Mayor Pete or some shit as well to try and, "Speak to the youths" and then be shocked when he doesn't do any better than Harris either losing the whole thing, or winning and being so bad it helps sweep more GOP into office.

You are correct my mistake XD. He's also the former Secretary of transport who thought telling the people of East Palestine, "Well, trains crash all the time" would be enough for them after that train disaster. He's such a bad choice that the Dems think are good because he can quip. He's such a tool

. It's likely they just supported the Dem candidate rather than the candidate who wasn't a Dem. In the end, they will support whoever isn't a Republican because, despite your cynicism, there is no evidence that the Democratic party isn't committed to a better future.

At this point, anyone who is still defending the Dems is doing it in bad faith imo. I mean I've felt that way before now, but still
