This exact thing happened in the anime That One Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime. I was so excited to see what the lizard woman would look like once she was named. She turned into a human so convincingly that she doubled as a spy. I stopped watching after that episode.

On another note, I really wish there was more stories with the roles reversed. That is human guy with a female creature.

This is how a semi-recent popular Nintendo game (won't say which because of spoilers but iykyk) should have ended.

What would be even better is a sequence where the girl is corrupted and mutated into it, like warped into a humanoid hunting zerg such as Dehaka!

Manga about a dude adopting a dragon. Final part is important here. He is playing a mobile game where the dragon becomes a human-dragon. He gets pissed and gives it 1 star. "Don't strip them of their identity! If you want to love humans, just play a game with humans in it from the start!"
