I don't know what I did to deserve this kind of karma, but I fully backed up a 1TB SSD 5 days before it decided to crap out.

I’ve spent this week consolidating all my portable drives onto a single 60TB NAS. Clearing so much clutter and no more wondering which combo of drives I need to connect to bring a project online for those “occasional” clients who call a couple times a year.

I did the same last year! I still carry a bunch of SSDs in my backpack but their contents are backed up on my NAS. This drive was relatively new and the project on it not yet backed up, but one day I got anxious and backed it up, saving my future self a lot of trouble!
