The more I think about it the more it seems Mafia III is a rebuke against fast travel. Ive got no clue if it’s in the game at all based on where Im at, and nothing has indicated it’ll make an appearance, but I hope it doesn’t!

A game that immediately came to mind as something to compare with is NFS Underground 2, an open-world racer with no fast travel that on the one hand absolutely benefits from that.. and on the other hand turns into a tedious traveling salesman problem
