We chose Replicache as the sync tool between the application data and the server. The main reason is that our current PostgreSQL database is hosted on Heroku, which prevents us from making the changes required by other sync engines (typically to support logical replication). #buildinpublic

Replicache (from @rocicorp.dev) allows you to create your own backend in a non-obtrusive way, accessing the database through your own REST API. This way we can use all the existing business logic on the server, developed with Ruby on Rails and accessible through our API. #replicache #localfirst
