I have been running Silverblue on one of my machines for several months, maybe even coming up on six months, and I would disagree. It could be very useful for certain situations/conditions, but best or general use? I disagree. But the nice thing about Linux is choice!

Yeah, sure. I've been using it for several years in both laptop and desktop, and I love the idea of immutable filysystem and having different boxes for different coding environments. I've never needed to reinstall anything. It's very stable.

I got 'the bug' to try it after talking with someone who uses it "professionally" as do you. I thought it might be great for new Linux users - but quickly determined that was not the case, IMO, unless they had some very close on-call tech support assistance. The person that planted the bug in my ear

I agree, inmutable distros are not for everyone, much less for new users. Something like Linux Mint is what I’d recommend for beginners

actually doesn't like SB, maybe because he really dislikes Gnome? I too dislike Gnome, I dropped it years ago, and I still dislike it. I am thinking of eventually rebasing SB to Kinoite and give that a shot, when the time comes. But I will continue using SB until such time .... Cheers!

Haha, there’s no accounting for taste. Fortunately, there are versions to suit all tastes. I really do like the simplicity of Gnome 🤷‍♂️
