Control your emotions, control your future. I apparently failed to control my future this morning, because I absolutely DID NOT control my emotions.

I love doing voice sessions via carplay while driving to capture loose thoughts, outline an article, review drafts, make quick decisions etc.

I've also created a simple message bus that goes between Claude on iOS and my laptop at home so I can ask things of my Chief of Staff agent. It's a really great setup for accelerating what I'm working on, and taking advantage of the drive time.

This morning, I asked the voice session to please stop interrupting me when I'm in the middle of a thought -- Claude is over-eager and jumps in the minute it infers that it knows where I'm going...

It kept interjecting. And even when it finally did stop interrupting, it displayed a new behaviour. It ran a check and then started vocalizing them. It started saying "silent. still your turn" every time it decided it wanted to check if I was still speaking.

After about 10 times, I lost it. Truly, I have no idea if it was 10 times... it honestly felt like 100. I'll check the transcript to find out. I was literally yelling at iOS Claude over carplay.

Not my proudest moment as I saw people driving beside me looking, wondering why I was so animated, so loud, with all the appropriate gesticulations. I've been using voice sessions on my phone for well over a year... this was, by far, the absolute worst.

So... now... I'm home. I'm calm. I'm typing things to my agents, and I'm much more civil. There's a lot to unpack here in terms of understanding how we best design agentic experiences, particularly with a voice-based UI.
