It's 5 years into Race-ident evil, the yearly series where me and @chorby.org have "raced" through the Resident Evil games as slowly as we could, and each year I make a trailer to go along with it and I wanna share each of them real quick and talk about it!

The RE1 trailer is nothing too crazy but I remember being VERY proud of nailing the bouncing effect at the title screen at the very end. I also have gotten so much use out of that same logo I made 5 years ago and haven't bothered changing once.

RE2 has so many shots in the opening of cars driving so I really wanted to run with the concept of "what if I tried to make it look like a racing game?" and I remember being really proud of not showing a single zombie on screen.

I didn't know what to do with RE3 until Solon suggested MYRONE's Exclusive Coupé for a theme and i couldnt get the idea for sort of action movie franchise going from racing to full on off the rails ala fast and furious out of my head. still not happy with how the NEMESIS comes on screen but w/e!!!

RE4 continues the action movie theme and I went with As Heaven Is Wide by Garbage because of its prominence in the first Gran Turismo, and it sets a grindhouse tone that fits RE4's visual style. I planned on mixing in more remake and original footage but uhh didn't lol. bsky.app/profile/fkas...

as for the RE5 one I made yesterday basically just within a few hours quoted above, I didn't expect to be able to make much out of it but there was actually something like 20 minutes of Vehicle Related footage in the 2 hour all cutscenes video I downloaded. thats fucking 16% of all the cutscenes!!!

i picked Pendulum's Showdown since it was used in the trailer for Forza Motorsport 3 and i think it sets the perfect generic action/driving movie tone. i just went in a fugue state pacing every single action scene to it and i think it's my best work yet www.youtube.com/watch?v=boV_...
