The CFP describes itself as a non-entity, a pass-through that only implements the desires of its members, college football's conferences. So why in the heck has it spent $5 million lobbying Congress? www.foiaball.com/p/college-fo...

The answer is something we've forgotten after we got a playoff as a treat. It's still a cartel, with the exact same antitrust concerns as the BCS. It knows it, and it's still working to protect itself. And as it tries to expand, we shouldn't let it forget that. www.foiaball.com/p/college-fo...

A thing I learned in reporting this is that the BCS told Congress it released publicly available audits of its finances. I've never seen one, and I bet you haven't either. But we need to demand that exact same transparency from the CFP before it charges forward. www.foiaball.com/p/college-fo...
