Okay great, whatever you want, this is incrementalism. Sure. But rather than patting ourselves on the back and saying this is good and fine for now, we should instead be saying "what is the next incremental policy toward housing for all, and how soon can we implement it?"

My not-so-hot take is that what Mamdani is doing *IS* incrementalism, and the bar is so deeply in hell that a politician just doing *anything* good consistently is a total anomaly for people. And I think for now that is good and fine, because it is restoring people’s faith that better is possible.
