I have no doubt... it is likely killing people: but the question has to be asked.. is it also saving lives?... we need the science on that.. meanwhile lack of vaccines Kill people

I had pneumonia and ended up in organ failure ... I survived but my metabolism had changed. I became a Type 2 Diabetic got rid of it KETO works well ... less carbs and more protein. lost 80 lbs in one year and have kept it off. Good Luck ... I walk every day .... 20 mins twice a day

Been there done that (keto when it was still Atkins - I'm that old) after end of 1st marriage when 25yrs younger, had comparable loss/time. It does NOT work the same now. At all. Now, instead, is nonalcoholic cirrhotic liver as a result of that old diet. be very cogniscient & monitor diligently

Works but this. if you dont diet exercise.. its a waste of MONEY.. period... to maintain ..cant sit on fat ass and eat everything!! BS MS and workout dude used GLP to.. LEAN DOWN..but also EXERCISE.. DIET ADJUSTMENT...

You don't get excited for food. And after half, you have no interest. You still have an appetite, but it's Halved. Nothing my wife makes sounds good. So we have a house full of food, and I go to the deli and buy chicken fingers. 😹😹😹😻

I'd just like to go on record that we are going to see some long term effects of these fat loss injection drugs. The "too good to be true" thought has NEVER turned out to be.

Vaccines? We have reached the point where people have to make up bad stuff about them. Also even if there are long term effects, it would be hard to outweigh the long term effects of obesity.

Depending on the argument you want to make, I don't think cigarettes are a good comparison. Also, I agree that there will be long term effects, many of which are documented. But arguing that there is risk without acknowledging the reward is just beating up scarecrows.

while GLP-1 was discovered over 40yrs ago it took decades to stabilize & wasn’t prescribed until 2010 for some diabetics, long term effects of its weight loss capabilities aren’t considered fully researched as non-diabetics are now using it & it’s gone from 10lbs in a yr to possibly 100lbs in a yr

Well i've been on it for 3 years. The only negative side effect has been occasional constipation. I have a low A1C, low fasting blood sugar and my liver has recovered from NASH, liver enzymes are all normal limits now. My doctor said I'm doing very well. So I'll keep taking my chances.

Anyone thinking these drugs are “too good to be true” is ill-informed. Side effects are common, there are some real health risks, and it’s not effortless. Obesity is a chronic disease, these are the most promising treatments so far, and are life-changing and life-saving for many.

Antibiotics kill microbes with the only main side effect of needing to not overuse them and create antibiotic-resistant strains. Man, look at your phone. 30 years ago, such a thing would’ve been too good to be true.

No doubt that disciplined use of wegovy will improve health for those who need it, but human nature being as it is there will be many cases of abuse leading to problems.

I don't think the issue is directly with the drug, but it's ultimate misuse by people who cannot discipline themselves.

Yeah, for diabetes. Unless you have diabetes, you don't know the impact it will have long term on the body. Dealing with a different body chemistry when someone non-diabetic uses the drugs meant for people with diabetes.

Showed me stroke like symptoms in my face in the 11th month & $10k hospital bill. Lost in all of 7lbs in 11 months while causing constant nausea, orthostatic hypotension, severe muscle weakness & aspirations while sleeping. That shit almost joplin'd me multiple times. Report on that.

Glad you didn't. Truly sucks to wake out of sleep desperate to breath thanks to throat constriction from the inhaled stomach acids & reflux. Don't think I'd wish it on anyone else.

My main issue here is it's more price gouging. We've already been told by Novo Nordisk that we need to buy the more expensive Wegovy over the chemically identical Ozempic. And now it seems we'll be told the cheaper, lower doses of Wegovy aren't effective and to buy the more expensive higher dose.

And lo and behold, when semiglutide comes off patent in a few years we'll definitely be told it isn't that effective after all, but the new Novo Nordisk XYZ drug costing ten times higher than generic semiglutide is a "game changer" and is set to revolutionise public health. All so predictable.

I use Mounjaro 10mg. I have a 24% loss in weight. My A1C is under 5.5 and fasting glucose is at 80. I seldom crave sweets or high fat foods, and even fruit seems too sweet to me. This stuff really works. For years I struggled to stay on low carb diets, had constant blood sugar swings but not anymore

If you don't change the behavior or diet that put you in the position of thinking you have to start taking a drug to fix it, stopping the drug isn't going to fix the problem.

An underperforming pancrea can't 'change behavior'. I come fr a long line of diabetics (type I & II); Wegovy a key tool to prevent my pre-diabetes fr becoming Type II. I work out (hard) almost daily, watch carbs, get 10 plant-based ingredients per meal, cut out sugar yrs ago, & not obese.

You are an asshole. Not just for this comment, but in general. It's why you do this. It's your pint of ice cream, your sleeve of cookies. You like the chemicals your body feeds you when you do this. Because you *know* you're a shitty person and you desperately want to feel better than someone.

We live in a world where children are raped and killed, guys get guns and shoot up schools, people destroy their lives for drugs, billionaries buy politicians to have a few more billions, countries go to war for oil and resources and you are suprised some pople struggle with weight loss??

It's hard for some people, but I think diet is a big factor. If you eat fiber and protein rich, healthy food you'll stay full for a lot longer and it becomes way easier. If instead you eat low fiber food, empty carbs & precooked/ultraprocessed crap, you'll feel hungry much faster and it gets harder.

Been on this drug for approx 2 years for diabetes, zero side effects, of which weight loss is one. My diabetes numbers are perfect, never lost a single gram. Seems the drug is pushed more for weight loss these days than for diabetes. Money money money, it's all they care about.

I would rather lose weight the old fashioned way diet and exercise. I’m implementing a plan right now But to be fair some times that doesn’t work because of underlying issues. So I’m not going to knock those who take shots. Hell I might need the shot one day.

The *VAST* majority of so-called "patients" are simply lazy, big-backed fat bodies who have not even tried putting down their forks and going for a walk. The US obese largely deserve the stigma they carry.

Also possible to lose substantial amounts of body weight by moving more and eating less.

Trumpistan and Mar-a-lagistas are sooo dependent on European tech: ozempic, insuline, and now this 🤣
