New Jackson+Williams piece is out and holy shit there are some outstanding points in this. Liz and Rua have repeatedly helped my thoughts evolve over the years. This does it again. This one isn't just about how "design for one, extend to all" is limited, but actively censors disabled people.

I'm always grateful for your discerning read and look forward to learning what you take from it!

Liz.... my big takeaway is that we need to do [ redacted ]. lmao In all seriousness though, I have been distraught for the past couple years. What do we do? Can we win against the behemoths? How? Prefigurative politics doesn't seem like enough when most all resources sit in a few buckets.

I get this. I realize the writing @fractalecho.bsky.social and I do together is not for the world we currently live in. My sense is when things become more hospitable for liberalism, these ideas and practices we're critiquing, which are mostly laying dormant, will be reintroduced as the solution.

It may seem responsive/reactive... but for me, it feels proactive.

I totally get you on that and didn't take it that way. Some guy on LinkedIN alluded to our writing being negative, and I'm like, uhhh this is my hope.
