Come be my colleague at UCSF! Our department BTS (like the K-pop band, but aka Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences) is searching for TWO new faculty members. Links, timeline, and why two searches in this thread 🧵

Search 1: BTS General Faculty Recruitment lnkd.in/gqTtyvJq We are looking for candidates at the forefront of developing, applying, and/or leveraging AI/ML methods to answer high impact biological questions.

Search 2: BTS Biomolecular Engineering Faculty Recruitment lnkd.in/gd7e84DY We are looking for candidates at the forefront of developing and applying experimental and computational methods in biomolecular engineering to answer critical problems in discovery science and translation.

The biomolecular engineering position is funded through an endowed position guaranteeing salary support similar to a standard UCSF ladder rank faculty appointment (and has the same tenure process, etc).

Anything unusual about the search? Yes! We will bring candidates from the two searches onsite over 2 visits total. Each visit will be mixed between the two searches, and committee members have blocked off time to attend symposium-style talks on the first day.

Timeline: Applications due Oct 30 Chairs and I create a shortlist by Nov 11 Committee reviews Nov 11-30 Zoom interviews before the end of 2026 Committee decides on finalists the first week of January Symposia in March
