Albom's recap says that the GB FG miss happened with 1:29 left. But there were actually 3:25 left when the ball turned over to the Lions. Albom's larger point about GB mistakes is correct, but Campbell correctly recognized Detroit would get the ball back if they turned it over on that 4th down call

Please do not try to justify that horrendous 4th down call. Detroit had no problem shooting themselves in the foot with TOs.

With 5 minutes left and three timeouts on hand, there was no question the Lions would get the ball back if they failed to convert. But if you punt, there would be enough field for Green Bay to work the clock down to a game ending FG attempt
