Religion for some sensitive kids can be so damaging- when my Baptist mil told my (raised w/out religion) 3 year old that god was watching him all the time and could see him everywhere he was so terrified that he would not let me stray more than a couple of feet from him for almost a year.

Speaker Johnson took his 13-year-old daughter to attend a purity ball with him where she was required to swear an oath to remain a virgin until marriage and accepting a ring that he put on her finger. A little too backwoods uncle daddy for me.

If you won't let churches use fear based indoctrination, medical neglect, emotional coercion, or psychological abuse, how are they supposed to maintain control over their congregants while robbing them blind?

The concept of agency or free will to choose is prevalent across many of the major faiths in the world. Any group claiming to follow the teachings of Christ and not allowing the practice of free will sounds like the work of the devil.
