If Bluesky wants to overcome the phenomenon of politicians posting long-form content on X and then only posting a screenshot of their X post on Bluesky, we need long-form posts here finally please.

In a way, it is somewhat astonishing that there is not a "long-form post as image" service that automates this whole process for Bluesky, since the 300 character limit seems to be religiously held. There is also the fact that alt text for images have a 2000 character limit, and those get indexed.

The usual proponents will tell you that they prefer short posts because it forces people to be concise and choose their words well (instead of unnecessarily long formulaic blabbering), but IMO the pros outweigh the cons, and I'd rather have the choice as a user.

just leads to posts being so short that you can't convey all the needed information about a topic or it being posted as a link to any third-party site or it not being posted at all

When I asked why those new "standard site" elements not included the full text (or at least parts of it), so it can get shown in the client without fuzz (open/close etc), I got strong feedback that authors want/need that extra click, for monetization schemes like other newsletter sites.
