softpower is more sustainable and stronger than hardpower. Giving up all your softpower so you can feel the hardpower is not only a sign of extreme insecurity but is deeply stupid.

Imagine you have a friend/partner/family member that loves you does everything to please you. You then decide that pulling a gun on them is the way to show to everyone that they really do what you want. You replaced a friend with a hostage. What did you gain? What happens next?

This is so tough for me to watch because I learned more about soft power in the US Digital Service than anywhere else. I couldn't believe what they accomplished with empathy and collaboration. Now Musk came in with hard power to destroy it all, and I'm scared to see what happens next.
