I wanted my coworker to get in on the GitHub Copilot Pro action, but he refuses to pay for AI anything. He just jumps around from free-usage tier to free-usage tier. Copilot has one, but I wanted Pro for him since he's a dev and it turns out, he qualifies for the Student pack

All that to say, if you or your kid are in school, or you're a teacher, you should apply. If you are the maintainer of a popular repo, you can also get GitHub Copilot Pro for free. I get mine through dbatools 🚀

He knows about Ollama and AI Toolkit for VS Code but agrees the models he is capable of running are good for tasks, but not smart enough to talk to. It's hard to go local when you get used to Claude and ChatGPT.
