Thankfully PS5 will be the last modern console I'll ever get. All these corporations really can't comprehend how much I don't care and how much I can backwards game as much as I can.

Genuinely wondering if the PS6 will be the first one I won't buy going back to the original. This whole industry seems to be run by greedy, stupid little pigs.

The same thing that would stop them from releasing a mandatory update and user license agreement change that would stop your ps5 from playing ps4 discs absolutely nothing. The problem is governments refusal to update media licensing laws not whether your license is on a disc or over the internet.

Friends with the right user licensing agreement you’re forced to accept they can remove access to your physical games just as easily as they can your digital ones The real problem here is governments refusing to update user license laws which were made in the 90s and haven’t been updated in decades

After canceling their biggest live service IP, deleting movies out of people's collections... now no physical media? PlayStation is dead to me.

Yeah, this is par for the course of Sony intent on driving it's games division into the dirt. Won't do a Destiny 3, getting rid of our movies we bought, and now we can't even own the games we bought. Then I was going to call and complain, silly me they have no more customer service either.🤮

I feel like this is the beginning of the end in some ways. What hype am I going to have to collect besides filling very expensive hard drives for astronomical console prices? I’m not opening a credit card just to do what I’ve been doing for years. The cost of entry is now untenable, and it’s PS5.

That's terrible. I hate this. Keep physical media alive!

Maybe the ps6 isn't something that will play discs in the first place. Potentially pivoting to a handheld form factor.

As much as I don't want to admit it I think i've gone as far as I can in the modern gaming world all this is going to do is encourage piracy
