Atlanta already hosts not only DragonCon but Furry Weekend Atlanta, both massively queer events in the heart of downtown GDQ left Florida at extreme financial peril because it made sense to keep the staff and attendees safe. Trump won Pennsylvania but Pittsburgh has been very welcoming.

I hesitate to reply because I don't want to come across as if I'm downplaying your concerns. But as a trans guy who lives in KY and has attended&helped run cons in the south, it is safer than you may expect. Not only that, but there are so many southern queer nerds who will find a home at this event

These kind of events are so very essential to have in the south. So many queer folks are going to find a space for themselves and it's going to be life-changing for them. I understand the fear and concern. But I believe in the staff and volunteers to nip any issues in the bud as they arise.

Atlanta might be a mess if it falls on the same week of a CFP semi final in Atlanta like it did this year. Peach Bowl this year happened same time as GDQ.

It depends on if the Peach Bowl is a CFP Semifinalist this year. I think those rotate, so next year they're likely going to be the Rose (if the Rose Bowl Committee allows them to move it from January 1) and Sugar Bowls. Which would make the Peach Bowl a New Year's game.

Is SGDQ going to be back at the Hilton? I really enjoyed the location and setup there the past couple years, but ugghh Hilton is on the shitlist right now 😒
