Games That Weren't

MELT, a lost 1997 PC game featuring Iron Maiden's Eddie, has been recovered! We're releasing a build for the first time, along with source code and an updated version for modern PCs. We also speak to developer Paul Tebbutt. Thanks to Tamaracade for their earlier research.

Source code plus a build for modern PCs is the part that gets me. So many lost games only resurface as a couple of screenshots and a rumor, so having this one actually playable again is a proper win. An Iron Maiden tie-in almost vanishing entirely is wild.

Reminds me of Hexen, was this the same game engine?

It was a new engine that was done from scratch. Thankfully the source code was shared, so it can be examined in more detail :)
