Two new pages on the #SpaceHistory #SpaceShuttle #NASA #SpaceFlight archive. The first is OMI V1202 - the Main Propulsion helium signature test. Seal the aft, pressurize everything with helium, and measure what leaks. The aft compartment IS the instrument. See:

gandalfddi.github.ioOMI V1202 - The Main Propulsion Helium Signature TestWhat the Space Shuttle V1202 Helium Signature Test was, how a preop, test and postop actually worked at KSC, and the voice tapes I recorded working it.

The second is the Complex 39 OIS channel list, off a 1988 pocket card. Channel numbers, console callsigns, who sits where. If you have ever listened to a launch processing tape and wondered who was talking - this is the reference. See:

gandalfddi.github.ioComplex 39 STS OIS Channelization - Who Is Talking On Which LoopKSC Complex 39 Space Shuttle Operational Intercom System channel assignments, console callsigns, and the acronyms you need to decode a launch processing voice tape.

And new tapes. The STS-73 V1202 set is both sides of the same test on the same day: Channel 132 is the Test Conductor running it, Channel 168 is MPS doing it. You hear a direction given, then hear it executed. See: gandalfddi.github.io...

Still missing: the V1202 and S0017VL1 OMIs themselves. I have tapes of us working the procedures and no copy of the procedures. If one survived in somebody's garage, I would like to hear about it.
