Did anybody get Icon Composer .icon files to work for alternate app icons? #WWDC25 #Xcode

The thing I didn’t get with the new icon composer was first, how do I even add it to a project, embarrassing how long it took me😂. And now I’m thinking about how the icon will look on older iOS versions. Like where do I specify that I only want the glass icon in the new iOS and old icon for before?

Yes, I had the same problem, the WWDC video skips over what you’re supposed to do. In theory, the icon is backwards compatible so you only get the glass effect on iOS 26. In practice, seems there are some rendering issues on older versions.

Yeah, I also feel that I want a different icon for before, as I’ve now changed the icon to optimize it for 26, but would prefer that the icon for 18 & before stays the same it is right now. I do not think that the new glass icon looks good on older versions without glass.
