Hi fellow Svelters! I just concluded an investigation to know whether it's possible to use the experimental Node SEA feature with SvelteKit, and I'm thrilled to announce that the answer is yes! You can read all about it there:

Thank you! It's pure Node, no need for electron nor build tools. I'm not sure it would make sense with static builds, you can serve your files with tools much smaller and faster than a 130MB Node binary. As for the release date, I'm waiting for maintainers to approve the concept before opening a PR.
This is awesome, nice research! I went down a similar path earlier this year, but ended up with SvelteKit's `bundleStrategy: "inline"` instead. I got a single HTML file my CLI downloaded and opened locally. svelte.dev/docs/kit/con...
nice! do u have the benchmark code? i wanna try running this on a webapp im working on github.com/cigaleapp/ci... the app *is* local only so it won't bé very interesting i think, but linking to the bench code might be useful if others have server-side heavy apps to test SEA with ^^
You can grab the WIP adapter here github.com/GauBen/gauti... (you'll need to install the dependencies imported in the code) then use github.com/hatoo/oha to compare adapter-node vs adapter-node-sea. Please share your benchmark results!
oh yeah so you just ran oha on the routes of the binary, makes sense i think ill also try it out github.com/inp-net/chur... since it's quite large and has an actual server side
