Playstation just wants to control the market. They can't truly control what Places sell the physical games for so they want to get rid or it and make things their own terms.

You will own nothing and be happy. The PS6 will probably not even have a disc drive. Also it's so much harder to gift games now that most don't have physical releases. You cannot trust kids to not buy a bunch of terrible AI slop games, but you can just buy them a game they want on disc.
