A blocklist check is just a DNS lookup, so you can run one by hand. Flip the IP's four octets around, add the list's zone on the end, and ask for an A record with dig.

An answer somewhere in 127.0.0.x means the IP's listed. No record at all means it's clean. Handy when you want to double-check a single listing yourself. www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5782
