You write this for the New York Times, the paper that is responsible for bringing Trump to power ánd responsible for keeping him there. Iran was never the problem. Israel is and was. Yet *every* politician in the USA is depending on AIPAC money, save a very small number. Cut Israel loose.

The Iranian regime might be lunatics, but they are not stupid. They may be horrible people to their own populace, but they see right through your bluster and egocentric ways. You hold no power there, and neither does Europe. We will have to untie ourselves from their oil and gas, and we will.

The empire of the USA is coming to an end, and so is the warped view of the world they projected. It has been made crystal clear that the USA is a terrorist state. A country based on violence, internally and externally. The Arab allies you are calling to protect will cut you loose like a deadweight.
