What are reasons to turn flights around other than court order? Medical emergency: they could land in UK or Germany surely?

We believe they lost landing clearance in Moldova because they would arrive at a time the airport is closed.

They are extremely bad at planning. I describe a bunch of other incidents like this one in the story. :-)

I got into that a bit in the story. Typically with a medical or mechanical, it would've landed in Bangor or another nearby airport. That leaves 1) lost clearance to land in Moldova, 2) court order, 3) something else we don't know about. ICE/DHS/Talon/Moldova didnt respond to my questions, so..🤷‍♀️
