We were literally just going through that dilemma! My first thought was to add pop-ups so that the next play tester would not be "lost"... rethinking that now.

Maybe our attention spans really have gotten this bad :(

I think it’s the fact that back in the day, game devs were competing against other games you had to buy outright. Once you bought the game it was yours and you couldn’t return it. If you couldn’t figure it out, you’re invested and you’re more likely to seek answers. If it’s FTP and complex? Bye.
